Our Fire Series A60T Valves feature high-strength metal stems bearings that maintain packing load in the event of fire, and an encased 8-bolt construction that maintains body integrity and body seals through extreme temperature changes resulting from fire exposure and water quenching.


Swagelok's Fire Series ball valves feature live-loaded Grafoil stem packing that ensures a reliable stem seal under normal conditions and continues to maintain a seal in fire events. The high-strength metal stem bearings facilitate smooth actuation, resist wear and extrusion, and help to maintain packing load during fire situations, enhancing the valve's reliability and safety.

Special Application Ball Valves - Fire Series A60T

The compensating seat design of A6OT Series valves live loads the seat to adjust for wear and fluctuations in temperature or pressure under normal conditions. This design also minimizes seat distortion from pressure surges, ensuring consistent performance and durability.

Additionally, the valves incorporate a Grafoil weir ring that ensures a seat seal against the ball during fire conditions. This feature is effective even if only a portion of the seat is destroyed, maintaining the integrity of the seal and the overall safety of the system.

Grafoil is a brand of graphite gasket material known for its high temperature resistance, chemical inertness, and excellent sealing properties. Made from pure, natural graphite flake that has been expanded and then compressed into sheets without binders or fillers, Grafoil can withstand extreme temperatures, pressures, and aggressive chemicals. Its flexibility and recoverability make it suitable for sealing applications where traditional materials might fail, such as in high-temperature environments or in contact with corrosive fluids. Grafoil is often used in applications requiring reliable sealing performance, such as in flange gaskets, valve packings, and various industrial sealing applications.

Our Fire Series ball valves not only meet the requirements of API Standard 607, 6th edition but also adhere to Swagelok's fire test specification SEI-00334, ensuring compliance with rigorous safety and performance standards in fire conditions.
