Finding and Solving Sampling System Problems with Help from Edmonton Valve (New Video)

If your work involves capturing a sample from a process, pipeline, or tank while maintaining the chemical composition during storage or transport for later analysis, we can help. A new video explains how.

Hear from Swagelok field engineers on how they can work with you onsite to find and solve problems with an existing sampling system or analyzer. Urgently need help? Please call 24/7 Field Advisory Services On-Call Technical Support at 780-237-7109.

Many customers we work with suspect problems with the sampling systems or analyzers, but are not sure of specifics. Something seems off when they go to validate process conditions or product specs; or go to capture a reference sample for environmental emissions, for example.

"Time delay is certainly the most common issue we see. But we also face other problems like condensation, crystallization, filter clogging" says Swagelok Field Engineer Bruno Chaurand in a new Swagelok video (above).

Think of Edmonton Valve & Fitting's Tom Webster, Field Advisor, as your go-to sampling expert. He has completed a year-long training and testing regime under experts like Tony Waters —arguably the leading authority on industrial sampling systems. And because of Tom's training, Edmonton Valve has expanded capability for conducting Sampling System Evaluation and Advisory Services (SSEAS) and providing grab sample panels.

Swagelok Field Service Technologists are sampling specialists who can help you identify the source of system issues and then find a solution. And here at Edmonton Valve, we have deep experience with sampling and analyzers in conventional oil and gas, steam-assisted gravity drainage (SAGD), chemical and petrochemical refining, alternative fuels, power generation, and research and development industries.

During a Sample System Audit, Tom (and, if needed, a team of peers) examines your systems and identifies steps to boost consistency, reliability, and efficiency. Plus, "in engagements to provide Swagelok Sampling System Evaluation and Advisory Services (SSEAS), we can assemble a system with people like Tony Waters and Don Yahn," Tom says.

"SSEAS is a full system evaluation. We take a holistic look at the facility and report with recommendations and suggestions on how to improve plant efficiency and safety. We can do wake frequency calculations and time delay calculations, advise on line sizing, and help with sample system design."
