Can you spare 3 minutes? If so, we can quickly orient you to what we mean by "pressure-reducing regulators" and "back-pressure regulators" – and show you our two main regulator product lines. Check out the new video below, then follow links in this article to more information about Swagelok regulators.
Watch Understanding Regulator Types, a new 3-minute video featuring clips of Swagelok engineers quickly introducing key concepts and our product lines:
Regulator selection is crucial to achieving the performance you want in your system or your process. Swagelok offers thousands of products, including dozens of Swagelok regulators, so that you can get exactly the right fit. (Our smaller regulators alone come in 17 basic models and many configurations.)
"Pressure-reducing regulators do just like the name says: they reduce a high pressure to a low pressure. This is traditionally what people think about when they think about pressure regulators,” says Swagelok Engineer Eric DiCesare.
"Back-pressure regulators control an upstream pressure – it controls what's behind it,” explains John Kestner, Swagelok's Field Engineering Manager - Americas. “These regulators are very often used when a minimum upstream needs to be maintained through a system or where very fine overpressure control is needed.”
Swagelok has two main series of regulators: our K-Series and our RHPS Series.
